My first blog!

Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Charlotte Nicholls and I am currently going into my second year at Canterbury Christ Church University studying media and communications. I live in the small village of Bayford which sits just outside Hertford town, Hertfordshire.

The idea of having a blog has both intrigued and scared me for a long time as their is a fear of having nothing interesting or worth whilst saying, especially online for everyone to see. However, enough is enough and today I have decided to pluck up the courage to begin writing, posting and sharing my adventures, thoughts and ideas to whoever may see it.

Firstly, doing a media degree is not what I imagined it to be, the study of semiotics for instance is not easy and shouldn't be taken forgranted. Although the study part can be a challenge, having this degree creates many opportunities which is why I chose to study it. At the end of my degree I hope to be able to chose the right career path for me which is why my blog's title is 'Wheres My Yellow Brick Road?' Dorothy had her path put straight in front of her, all she had to do was follow it. In the last year I have been torn, their are many job opportunities that come with a media degree and choosing a part of it to specialise in is difficult. However, I do know that I love writing and meeting new people which is why this blog may mainly focus on my travels. Therefore, one day getting a job involving travelling and writing would quite possibly be a dream job. 

However, travelling to exciting and new places takes time and money so whilst I work and save I will also be blogging about university experiences, home and life in general.
